Cook Children's
Family Health Library

Clinicians and Staff

The library is your partner for improving health literacy and health equity.

Professional librarians provide understandable, up-to-date information about health issues, diagnoses, treatments, and care.

  • Enter an order in Epic for a Library Consult (inpatient)  or Referral (outpatient). We will deliver information to the patient's room, or send by email or a MyCookChildrens message. Information can also be printed and mailed to home.
  • Request a Health Care Notebook to help patients and families manage chronic and complex health conditions.
  • Encourage families or caregivers to visit the Library in-person or contact us online to request information.
